When in Savannah…relax and take the time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. At Bonaventture Books we take the time to select quality manuscripts of interest to our readers.
Founded in 2002 in Savannah, GA, we’re an independent regional publisher, focused on subjects of regional interest. After moving to Savannah in 2000, former international marketing executive and magazine editor Cristina Piva noticed a wealth of talent in the region. After the publication of “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, it seemed that New York publishers no longer had interest in Savannah-related stories. That is the niche we intend to fill.
We are interested in quality manuscripts in: memoirs, biographies, ghost stories, hauntings and the supernatural, Savannah true stories, cookbooks, Savannah guidebooks, Savannah history, historic novels and other non-fiction categories. Each book is carefully designed to reflect the main concept of the text, resulting in handsome and unique books. They tell stories that are relevant, moving, informative and affecting.
Our authors and photographers enjoy sharing their experiences and are available for speaking at schools, libraries and events. Please contact us for information and fees: (912) 355-7054, or info@bonaventture.com

The story traces a family's legacy from arrival of an 18th century indentured servant to the begrudging return of her last legitimate descendant in the 21st century. Through flashbacks, the reader is introduced to a procession of stalwart women who draw their strength from their connection to the rhythmic life on the marsh and unfailing conviction that what cannot be bested must be borne.

Ten true stories about Savannah not found anywhere else, including Shoeless Joe Jackson’s ‘Savannah years.’ There are a few contemporary subjects, but most of the stories are about the gold old days when Savannah was run by gangsters and gamblers, a time when the town was known as the Independent State of Chatham. Some tragic, some comic, a few ghosts…but all true! Masterfully rendered so that it is practically impossible to tell where objective fact-finding ends and colorful editorial opinion begins. The best book ever written about Savannah, bar none! |
